Do I have to join the Business Professional Persons' Club to attend functions?
No. You are welcome to attend any function as a non-member or guest. You pay a slightly higher rate than members.
How does the club function?
We organize weekly functions and add a club markup fee for club administration expenses such as printing of newsletters, telephone, advertising costs and maintaining the website over and above the actual function costs.
What are the benefits of membership?
You benefit in that you pay a lower price for the club functions than non-members.
What is the age group?
The age ranges from late twenties upwards.
Do I get introductions?
All introductions are purely on a how-do-you-do basis. The club does not do matchmaking. We provide the opportunity to meet people and the rest is up to the individuals themselves, whether it is business networking or forming relationships.
How big is the club? We have a database of over 700 people.
What is the dress code? For hikes, none, except for sun protection such as a hat and a pair of hiking boots and water bottle.. For wine tastings and dinner evenings the dress code is smart casual or smart depending on the venue. No t-shirts, overalls or sandals.
How do I join the club? You complete a membership form and pay a once-off joining fee of R680.
How many people attend a function?

The nature of the function determines the numbers. For example, for a hike there is usually approximately 20 depending on whether permits are required or not. For a pub and dance evening there are usually between 60 to 100 people but they are growing in popularity. For travel trips, the amount of accommodation booked determines the numbers and whether it is a lodge, hotel or self-catering venue. For a self-catering trip we will not take more than 16 people. However, a hotel booking can be for 50 people
